Postseason schedule released
The Illinois High School Association made the 2026 baseball postseason schedule public on Wednesday, outlining a full slate of regional semifinals, title games and sectional matchups for teams across the state. The document provides start times, venue assignments and bracket information for every class.
In the Springfield coverage area, five programs earned the highest seeding in their respective classes, while an additional five secured the second seed. Jacksonville Routt, Mount Pulaski and Pawnee were placed as the No. 1 seeds in Class 1A, underscoring their strong regular‑season performances.
Pleasant Plains entered the bracket as the top seed in Class 2A, and Chatham Glenwood claimed the same position in Class 3A. The seeding reflects a competitive balance that the IHSA hopes will translate into tightly contested regional play.
State tournament venues and dates
The Class 1A and Class 2A state tournaments will conclude on June 12‑13 at Illinois Field in Champaign, while the Class 3A and Class 4A finals are slated for the same weekend at Slammers Stadium in Joliet. Both venues are expected to draw large crowds as teams vie for the ultimate state titles.
Beyond seeding, the released schedule details every regional semifinal, title contest and sectional semifinal, complete with start times and broadcast considerations. Coaches and athletic directors can now map out travel plans and prepare their squads for the upcoming battles.
