A Season of Excellence
The 2026 NewsTribune Girls Soccer All-Area Team honors the most impactful players from the region’s high school programs, recognizing those who combined skill, leadership and consistency to elevate their squads throughout a competitive season.
At the forefront of the attack, Princeton’s Olivia Sandoval emerged as the top scorer with 16 goals and three assists, a testament to her positioning and finishing ability. Her teammate Bella Clevenger contributed 13 goals and four assists, while Ava Kyle added eight goals and the same number of assists, forming a potent front line that consistently pressured opponents.
Defensive Mastery
On the back end, Princeton’s Yocelyn Robledo anchored the defense with ten shutouts, providing stability that allowed the midfield to flourish. Riley Erlenborn of Mendota led her team’s defensive unit with nine shutouts and three assists, while Kamilah Preciado’s ten goals and seven assists highlighted her dual threat capabilities from midfield.
La Salle‑Peru’s Addie Dawson proved indispensable as a defensive midfielder, tallying three goals and two assists while also contributing to the team’s overall balance. Lily Higgins, another key figure for La Salle‑Peru, averaged 12.4 assists per game and recorded six shutouts, underscoring her all‑around impact.
Mendota’s Zariah Escatel showcased versatility, playing multiple positions while scoring five goals and delivering five assists. Chloe Ostrowski provided solid defensive work for Princeton, adding four goals to her contributions, and the collective efforts of these players helped shape a season defined by both offensive flair and defensive resilience.
