The 2026 Summit League Baseball All-Academic Team has been announced, honoring a select group of student‑athletes who excel both on the diamond and in the classroom.
This year’s list features four athletes who have earned the distinction more than once, while seven others are receiving the honor for the first time, underscoring a growing culture of academic achievement across the league.
Selection Process and Criteria
Northern Colorado and North Dakota State topped the leaderboard, each placing three players on the team, reflecting the depth of scholarly talent within those programs.
Other institutions also celebrated multiple selections: Oral Roberts and St. Thomas each contributed two honorees, and Omaha added one member to the roster.
Eligibility for the team required a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30, the completion of a full academic year at the athlete’s current institution, and participation in at least half of the team’s competitions; pitchers were exempted with a lower threshold of 20 percent participation.
The final roster was determined through a voting process that combined nominations from sports information directors across the league with ballots cast by faculty athletic representatives, ensuring that the ten athletes with the highest vote totals earned the spots, with ties resolved in favor of inclusion.
Among the repeat honorees, Joe Roder and Jake Storey secured their third consecutive placement, while Adam Puder and Brandon Sanchez each claimed their second straight year on the team. They join a cohort of peers such as Gus Allred, Colton Becker, Brayden Marks, Parker Puetz, Makani Tanaka, Jack Hill, and Henry Zipay, each representing their respective schools with distinction.
The recognition not only highlights individual dedication but also reflects the Summit League’s commitment to fostering balanced development, where athletic prowess and academic rigor are pursued in tandem.
