The News-Gazette’s 28th All-Area girls soccer team for the 2026 season brings together the most dynamic talents from schools across Illinois and neighboring states. Among the honorees, Alicia Fernandez of Centennial High School dazzled with 29 goals and 16 assists, drawing All-Sectional honors and edging toward the 100-career-goal milestone. Meanwhile, Rylie Schulze of Champaign Central overcame a quadriceps injury to still contribute 24 goals and 11 assists, helping the Maroons capture a Class 2A regional championship.
Goalkeeper Lainey Jacobs of Mahomet-Seymour earned All-State recognition, posting a mere 17 goals allowed in 24 matches, while Lauren Good anchored Monticello’s back line, guiding the team to a second straight Class 1A regional title.
