Annie Koester, a 10‑year‑old fifth‑grader from Kansas, was traveling with her family to a youth soccer tournament in Nashville when the vehicle she was in was involved in a serious collision.
The crash occurred on Wednesday, July 15, and Annie was quickly placed on life support as doctors worked to treat the injuries she sustained.
She passed away on Saturday night, succumbing to the injuries sustained in the accident, a loss that has shaken her school community and friends.
