A Historic Trio from Bryant University
Three Bryant University alumni are currently making their mark in the big leagues, a first in the school's history.
James Karinchak, Mickey Gasper and Ryan Ward all shared the diamond as teammates in 2017, and now each is contributing to a different MLB club.
Karinchak's recent promotion to the Atlanta Braves on June 10 adds a new chapter, as he brings a 2.45 ERA and 38 strikeouts in Triple‑A this season.
Gasper and Ward Carve Out Roles in Boston and Los Angeles
Gasper, who debuted late in 2024 with the Boston Red Sox, is already batting .284 with a .676 OPS across 23 games, establishing himself as an everyday player.
Ward earned his first call‑up from the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 18, and on May 31 he launched his inaugural MLB home run at Dodger Stadium, finishing eight games at .842 OPS.
Beyond this trio, Bryant has a long tradition of sending players to the professional ranks, having produced 25 professionals since 2009 and 27 in total, a testament to the program's enduring impact.
