Belleville‑based author Aaron Bell is set to unveil his latest book, Junior Hockey Giants: Local Legends Belleville, a comprehensive chronicle of the city’s junior hockey heritage. The work weaves together archival photographs, personal anecdotes and profiles of standout players, offering readers a vivid portrait of the sport’s local impact.
Launch event details
The official launch will take place on June 2, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. inside Boston Pizza on Bell Boulevard. The evening will feature a live discussion with Bell, a showcase of the book’s visual material and an opportunity for attendees to meet fellow hockey enthusiasts from the community.
Beyond the printed volume, the project is linked to a four‑part documentary series that will air on YourTV in the Quinte region later this year. The series expands on many of the stories and faces highlighted in the book, bringing the history of the Belleville Jr. B Bobcats, Belleville Bulls and Belleville Senators to a broader audience.
The initiative is presented by community partner Mackay Insurance, with promotional support from Boston Pizza Belleville, Mr. Print Belleville and the City of Belleville. Their involvement underscores the collaborative spirit that has long defined Belleville’s sporting culture.
Special incentives for early attendees
The first 100 guests will receive a limited edition art print featuring legendary player Mike Murphy, adding a collectible element to the event. The inaugural print run of the book will be offered at $40 per copy, with subsequent online sales scheduled through the dedicated website www.hockeydocs.com/belleville.
Beyond the launch night, the book and its companion documentary aim to preserve and celebrate the region’s hockey narrative for future generations, ensuring that the achievements of local players and teams remain a living part of Belleville’s identity.
