Fisher College announced this week that Aaron Calixte has been named its new assistant basketball coach, a move that brings a wealth of on‑court experience from high school, college and professional circuits.
A Journey Across Continents
Calixte’s basketball journey began at Stoughton High in Massachusetts, where he honed his skills before moving on to Lee Academy and then becoming a starting point guard at the University of Maine. He later completed his collegiate career at the University of Oklahoma, after which he turned professional, playing in Georgia, Ireland and Sweden.
Coach Leonelli’s Praise
Head Coach Anthony Leonelli praised the hire, noting that Calixte’s elite playing background instantly lends credibility to the staff and promises to elevate the team’s competitiveness.
The Falcons finished the previous NAIA season with a 17‑12 record and ranked fifth nationally in scoring, a testament to the program’s upward trajectory. Calixte’s arrival is expected to add depth to that momentum.
Looking Ahead
Reflecting on his first year as an assistant, Calixte expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating his commitment to fostering growth among the student‑athletes and helping the team chase its goals.
