Aaron Green’s College Rush and Coaching Return at TCU

A look at his on‑field achievements, professional detours, and new role on the Horned Frogs staff

Aaron Green emerged as one of TCU’s most productive running backs, leaving a distinct mark on the program between 2014 and 2015.

During his sophomore season he amassed 922 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, a performance that earned him a spot on the All‑Big 12 Second Team.

The following year he added 1,272 yards and eleven scores, garnering All‑Big 12 Honorable Mention while also making a decisive tipped catch in the end zone during a 55‑52 victory over Texas Tech.

His career average of 7.1 yards per carry in 2014 and a career‑long 5.4 yards per carry underscore a blend of explosiveness and durability that placed him seventh on the school’s all‑time rushing list with 2,426 total yards.

From Player to Coach

After going undrafted, Green signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2016, briefly appeared for the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and the San Antonio Commanders of the AAF before returning to TCU, where he began serving as assistant running backs coach in January 2026.

The number 22 on his jersey, once symbolic of the days left until the 2026 season opener against North Carolina, now serves as a reminder of his lasting connection to the program.
