Semifinals Shifted as Storm Threat Looms
The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Friday that the semifinals of the 2026 ACC Baseball Championship will begin earlier than originally scheduled to avoid a forecasted bout of inclement weather. The adjustment affects both Saturday matchups, ensuring fans can enjoy the games without the risk of delays.
First up, Georgia Tech will square off against Miami at 11 a.m. Eastern Time. The Yellow Jackets enter the contest with a strong pitching staff, while the Hurricanes bring a potent lineup that has been among the nation’s most consistent hitters this season.
In the second semifinal, North Carolina will meet the winner of the Florida State-Pitt play‑in at 3 p.m. ET. The Tar Heels, perennial contenders in the league, are set to face either the Seminoles or the Panthers, both of whom have shown the ability to mount a deep tournament run.
Organizers emphasized that all tickets purchased for Saturday’s semifinals remain valid for the new start times, eliminating the need for any exchange or refund. Fans who have already secured seats can simply arrive at the originally scheduled time and enjoy the revised schedule.
The championship game itself is slated for Sunday, May 24, at noon Eastern Time, and will be broadcast live on ESPN2. The winner of that final will be crowned the ACC champion and earn an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
