Addi Laslie, a former All‑State and All‑Conference standout at Ellsworth High School, returns to her hometown as the new head coach of the girls soccer program, bringing with her a prolific scoring record from Husson University where she netted 11 goals and added four assists in 19 games last fall.
She replaces Eric Terrill, who guided the team to a Class B North championship in 2023 before announcing a move to North Carolina, opening the pathway for Laslie to take the reins after a two‑year stint coaching the Acadia Fire soccer club in Ellsworth.
Laslie’s playing pedigree includes 33 goals and 16 assists over 74 appearances for the Ellsworth Eagles, a testament to her offensive instincts that she now hopes to translate into a tactical blueprint centered on an attacking mindset and building from the back.
Ellsworth athletic administrator Josh Frost praised the appointment, citing Laslie’s deep‑rooted connection to the school and her proven ability to lead on the field, and expressed confidence that her vision will shape a competitive squad despite the current constraints.
Because Del Luce Stadium is undergoing renovations, the girls and boys teams will practice and compete on the football field this season, a temporary arrangement that adds a layer of complexity to preparation, with the first practice slated for August 17.
