Makeer, who holds dual citizenship, brings a blend of skill and experience that caught the attention of national team selectors. As a freshman she averaged 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists, but her breakout came in the NCAA Tournament where she posted 14.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game, earning a place on the All‑Region team. Her career trajectory continued upward with a stellar showing at the 2024 U17 World Cup, where she averaged 17.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists and was named to the All‑Star Five.
The training camp will feature an exhibition match against UCLA on July 22, giving Makeer a chance to test herself against a top American program.
