A New Chapter for Alabama Basketball
Alabama’s men’s basketball program is set to make its debut at the 2026 Players Era Festival, a new summer showcase that will bring together some of the nation’s top college teams in Las Vegas.
The Crimson Tide will open the tournament against Baylor, a program they have dominated over the past decade, holding a 5‑2 edge in seven all‑time meetings. Their most recent encounter came in the 2022 season, when Alabama pulled away 87‑78.
Tournament Schedule and Outlook
The opening round is slated for Nov. 24, with a brief pause the following day before the second round begins on Nov. 26, a date that could see Alabama face either Gonzaga or Kansas depending on earlier results.
Beyond Alabama’s matchup, the field includes high‑profile pairings such as Tennessee versus Maryland, San Diego State against Iowa State, and St. John’s taking on Oregon, adding depth to what promises to be a competitive week of games.
A Platform for the Next Generation
Organized by the University of Alabama Athletics, the event underscores the growing platform for college players to compete in a professional‑style environment while giving fans a chance to see marquee programs clash on a neutral court.
