Alabama Crimson Tide settle 2026 kicking responsibilities

Conor Talty to handle field goals, Lorcan Quinn to manage kickoffs as the team prepares for its season opener

Alabama’s special teams unit has been reshaped ahead of the 2026 campaign, with head coach Kalen DeBoer confirming that Conor Talty will serve as the primary field‑goal and extra‑point kicker.

A competitive edge

Talty arrives after a junior season in which he converted 16 of 23 field‑goal attempts and was flawless on 48 extra‑point tries, a performance that helped cement his role despite an extremely competitive battle in practice.

Joining him will be Lorcan Quinn, a transfer from Marshall who spent the previous year leading the Sun Belt Conference with 21 made field goals on 26 attempts, and who will now be responsible for kickoffs.

The Crimson Tide open the season at home against East Carolina on September 5, with kickoff scheduled for 11 a.m. CT and a broadcast on ABC, setting the stage for the new kicking duo to make an early impact.
