Alabama Secures NCAA Regional Hosting
Alabama’s baseball program has been selected to serve as the host site for the 2024 NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional, scheduled to unfold from May 29 through June 1 at Sewell‑Thomas Stadium. The announcement comes as the Crimson Tide prepares for its fourth consecutive appearance in the national postseason, a streak that underscores the team’s consistent performance on the collegiate stage.
The regional will employ a double‑elimination format, pitting three participating teams against one another in a compact yet competitive slate. Sewell‑Thomas Stadium, a venue that has witnessed numerous memorable moments for Alabama, will serve as the central hub for the games, offering fans a familiar and vibrant atmosphere.
Ticket options are now available for enthusiasts eager to attend the event. All‑session passes are priced at $105, granting access to every game across the tournament, while single‑session tickets can be purchased for $25, allowing spectators to tailor their experience to specific matchups.
A Legacy of Excellence
This marks the first time since 2023 that Alabama has opened its doors to a regional tournament, and it adds to a storied history of hosting duties that date back to 1999. In total, the Crimson Tide has presided over six regional events, compiling a 12‑2 record in 14 contests as a host, and boasts a 74‑57 overall record in NCAA Tournament play dating back to its inaugural appearance in 1947.
Beyond the immediate competition, the selection reflects the program’s sustained excellence, highlighted by 29 tournament appearances and eight Regional Championships throughout its history. The upcoming regional not only continues a legacy of success but also reinforces Alabama’s commitment to providing a premier environment for collegiate baseball’s next generation.
