A New Era for Alabama Women’s Basketball
The Southeastern Conference announced the 2026‑27 women’s basketball schedule, setting a 16‑game conference slate for each member school. Alabama’s portion includes 16 matchups, half at home and half on the road, with the season opening on New Year’s Eve at South Carolina.
First‑year head coach Pauline Love will guide the Crimson Tide, who finished last season 24‑11 and secured their 15th NCAA Tournament appearance. Love inherits a roster that reached the postseason a year ago and will look to build on that momentum as the team embraces a new direction.
Alabama opens its conference slate on the road against the Gamecocks before returning to Tuscaloosa for a series of home games. The first home opponent is Georgia on January 3, followed by Florida on January 7 and Auburn on February 7, the latter marking the return of the Iron Bowl to Coleman Coliseum.
The home schedule also features matchups against Tennessee, Kentucky and Oklahoma later in the month, while the road trip includes contests at Ole Miss, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi State. A rare home‑and‑home series with Ole Miss spans January 11 and February 25, giving the Tide two chances to face the Rebels.
