A Battle for the Boot
Both Conor Talty and Lorcan Quinn have impressed during back‑to‑back drills, each nailing field goals from 58 yards and showcasing the consistency that has defined their careers.
Talty entered the previous season with a solid record, converting 16 of 23 field‑goal attempts and perfecting all 48 extra points, numbers that have kept him in the conversation for the starting role.
Quinn, meanwhile, topped the Sun Belt Conference with 21 made field goals on 26 attempts and was flawless on 38 of 39 extra points, a performance that has elevated his standing in the competition.
Despite the clear quality of both athletes, the coaching staff has yet to name a starter for either the kicker or punter positions, leaving the decision open until game‑time preparations are complete.
