Nanooks Add Local Forward
The Alaska Nanooks have announced the addition of Simon Binkley, a 6‑0 left wing who grew up in Fairbanks and spent the last two seasons navigating the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the British Columbia Hockey League.
Head coach Erik Largen highlighted Binkley’s work ethic, competitive spirit and the pride he brings to representing his hometown, noting that the player’s blend of size and skill fits the program’s evolving identity.
During the 2025‑26 campaign Binkley posted 43 points in 60 games for the Moncton Wildcats, a performance that helped the club capture the QMJHL championship and earn a berth at the Memorial Cup. His contributions extended into the postseason, where he continued to make an impact.
The Nanooks are gearing up for the 2026‑27 season and have promised further announcements as they complete their roster, signaling a busy offseason aimed at building on the momentum of recent successes.
