A Familiar Face Returns to the Program
Binghamton University announced this week that Alex Brodsky, a former Bearcat standout, has been appointed assistant general manager for the men’s basketball program. The move brings back a player who not only wore the orange and black on the court but also knows the institution from the inside.
Brodsky’s new responsibilities will span program fundraising, the development of name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities, and the construction of the roster that will shape the team’s future.
A Career Shaped by International Play
After completing his collegiate career, Brodsky took his game abroad, spending two seasons professionally in Finland and Luxembourg. In Finland he earned the distinction of 1B Player of the Week and became known as a top scorer in the National 2 division, while his stint in Luxembourg placed him among the league’s leading point producers.
His time overseas was accompanied by academic achievement, as he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and an MBA from Binghamton University in 2022, underscoring a commitment to both sport and business.
Since hanging up his jersey, Brodsky has been active in player evaluation and scouting across Finland, Austria, and Iceland, where he helped identify talent and guide athletes toward collegiate and professional pathways.
Beyond scouting, he has advised prospects on recruiting strategies and professional placement, assisting them in securing collegiate scholarships and overseas contracts.
His background also includes work in startup technology sales and NIL marketing, where he has helped athletes craft personal brands and connect with sponsorship and partnership opportunities.

Head coach Levell Sanders highlighted Brodsky’s unique understanding of Binghamton’s culture and its fan base, noting that the former player brings a perspective that few outsiders can match.
Sanders added that Brodsky’s blend of playing experience, academic credentials, and professional network positions him to contribute immediately to the program’s growth and competitiveness.
The university hopes that Brodsky’s involvement will translate into stronger fundraising outcomes, more lucrative NIL deals for current players, and a roster that reflects both athletic talent and marketability.
