Alexandra Knight, a sophomore forward for Southeastern Louisiana, has been recognized as the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, a testament to her explosive start to the season.
Knight’s breakout performance
Her breakthrough came in a 5‑1 victory over Louisiana Tech, where she netted a career‑first hat trick, adding three goals to a total of five shots, four of which were on target, in just 61 minutes of action.
The performance not only secured a comfortable win for the Lions but also marked the first time a Lion has recorded a hat trick since Christina Cutura in 2018, underscoring the rarity of the feat.
Building on that momentum, the team is set to host Troy on Thursday, a match that will be streamed live on ESPN+, as the squad looks to extend its winning streak.
Knight’s blend of speed, precision and relentless energy has become a cornerstone of the Lions’ attack, and coaches expect her to continue driving the offense forward as the season progresses.
