Alexis Pettinato, a two‑time Taunton Daily Gazette Girls Hockey Player of the Year and SouthCoast Girls Ice Hockey Player of the Year, is transferring to St. Mark’s School in Southborough and reclassifying to the class of 2028. The move follows a high school career that blended elite hockey with standout performances in soccer and lacrosse.
A decorated high school career
During her junior year she led the Spartans with 11 goals and five assists as a defenseman, helping the team reach the MIAA Division 1 Elite Eight. As a sophomore she was a key contributor in the Spartans’ first playoff victory and their run to the D‑1 Finals, and she earned the Most Improved Player award after taking over as starting goalkeeper in soccer. In lacrosse she scored 30 goals, added 11 assists, and was named a South Coast Conference All‑Star while being voted the 2024‑25 Gazette Girls Athlete of the Year.
Her accolades also include two consecutive selections as Gazette Girls Hockey Player of the Year for the 2024‑25 and 2025‑26 seasons, as well as the SouthCoast Girls Ice Hockey Player of the Year for 2025‑26.
A new chapter with the Lions
Pettinato will join the Lions hockey team, a program that recently advanced to the NEPSAC Small semifinals, and will continue to compete at the U19 Tier 1 level with the Northeast Generals club. The transition marks a significant addition to the roster as the team looks to build on its recent playoff success.
Beyond hockey, the move places her in Southborough, Massachusetts, a town that will serve as the base for her academic and athletic development as she prepares for the class of 2028.
