The 2026 All-NBA Team was revealed with a blend of unanimous acclaim and narrow margins, underscoring the league’s evolving hierarchy. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic headlined the first team, each earning a perfect 100-vote tally, while Victor Wembanyama came within a single ballot of joining them.
The unanimous first-team
Wembanyama’s near-perfect showing was matched by the consistent presence of Luka Doncic and Cade Cunningham, both of whom appeared on every ballot. Cunningham’s vote distribution revealed a split between 60 first-team and 38 second-team selections, while Doncic’s 100 first-team votes cemented his sixth consecutive appearance.
Jaylen Brown, despite being listed on all 100 ballots, fell to the second team after receiving 44 first-team votes, 54 second-team votes and two third-team votes. He shared the second-team roster with Kawhi Leonard, Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant and Jalen Brunson, the latter completing a three-time All-NBA run.
Durant’s 12th All-NBA nod placed him among an elite group of twelve players with double-digit selections, while Leonard’s seventh-time honor and Brunson’s third-time recognition highlighted the depth of experience on the second team.
The third team introduced five first-time recipients — Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray, Jalen Johnson, Jalen Duren and Chet Holmgren — signaling a new wave of talent. Their inclusion marked the first All-NBA acknowledgment for each of them.
Veteran LeBron James missed the ballot entirely for the second time in his 23-year career, a rarity given his longevity, while Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo were ruled out by the 65-game minimum, ending Antetokounmpo’s eight-year streak of uninterrupted All-NBA selections.
Jokic’s sixth straight appearance set the longest active streak, a testament to his sustained excellence, and the overall list reflected a shifting balance between established legends and emerging stars.
