The Anaheim Ducks announced today that they have inked forward Nikita Klepov to a three‑year entry‑level contract, a move that locks in the 2026 draft’s 15th overall selection through the early years of his professional career.
A Record‑Breaking Rookie Season
Klepov dominated the Ontario Hockey League this past campaign, finishing atop the league’s scoring charts with 97 points and setting franchise rookie records for assists and points in a single season with the Saginaw Spirit.
His performance earned him the Emms Family Award and the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy, making him only the third player in OHL history to capture both honors in the same season, and the first American‑born player to win the Powers Trophy since Jason Robertson in 2018‑19.
International Spotlight
Klepov also contributed to the United States’ gold‑medal effort at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, scoring the championship‑clinching goal and adding six points in five tournament games.
He followed that up with five points in four OHL playoff games, underscoring his ability to perform under pressure as the Spirit advanced deep into the postseason.
General Manager Jeff Gordon praised the signing, stating that Klepov’s blend of skill, work ethic and proven clutch performances aligns perfectly with the Ducks’ long‑term vision.
