A sleek new entertainment complex called Anchor Park is rising in Port Wentworth, Georgia, promising a blend of sport, music and dining that could become a regional draw.
The development will feature an ice‑hockey rink that serves as the home venue for the Ghost Pirates, a covered pavilion capable of seating more than 2,000 guests, and a 250‑seat restaurant and bar equipped with large‑screen televisions.
Beyond the rink and stage, the site includes multi‑use fields and courts designed for community leagues, as well as corporate office space for the Ghost Pirates organization.
Opening Night Lineup
Local singer Billy Currington, a native of Effingham, is slated to headline the opening concert on August 7 alongside country star Kip Moore, while a Jazz Fest kickoff event is scheduled for August 1.
James Touchton, a key figure in the project’s planning, said the name Anchor Park was chosen to convey a welcoming atmosphere that distinguishes it from the nearby Port Wentworth Park.
Construction on the rink and restaurant is expected to wrap up by September, with designers emphasizing a modern aesthetic and a “wow factor” for visitors.
City officials view the complex as part of a broader strategy to expand recreational options for residents and tourists, reinforcing Port Wentworth’s growth trajectory.
