A Game Suspended, A Future Rekindled
Anders Hedin, a senior at Princeton High, stepped onto the mound and the batter’s box for the Princeton Post 218 American Legion squad as they faced Lawrence Post 414 in a tightly contested matchup.
At the plate he compiled a 3‑for‑5 performance, scoring twice and driving in a run, his aggressive swing clearly paying dividends.
On the hill he tossed four innings in relief, striking out six batters and showing a growing confidence in his fastball.
The contest concluded tied at 5‑5 after nine innings, the game called off and slated for a later resumption, giving both teams a second chance to settle the score.
Post 218’s roster blends talent from WW/P‑North and the local Princeton community, a mix that coach Judd Petrone says is beginning to click as a cohesive unit.
Petrone, in his first year at the helm, highlighted Hedin’s contributions, noting the senior’s dual‑threat impact as a key factor in the team’s emerging chemistry.
Hedin, savoring his final season with the post, expressed enthusiasm about staying involved with the program beyond his playing days.
