The Allen Americans, an ECHL franchise closely aligned with the Ottawa Senators, have secured the services of defenseman Andre Anania for the 2026‑27 campaign, marking the club’s 18th year as a professional hockey team.
A Promising Defensive Addition
Anania, a native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, burst onto the professional ranks with a career‑high 42 points in 66 games last year, a performance that represents a 31‑point jump from his rookie season and signals a rapid ascent.
After a brief stint with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League, the blue‑liner will head to Tucson this September to take part in the Roadrunners’ training camp, where he hopes to sharpen his game against top AHL competition.
Head coach Steve Martinson described Anania as a skilled defenseman who combines speed, vision and an offensive instinct that should add depth to the Americans’ blue line and complement their attacking style.
The team’s season opener will feature home games against the Idaho Steelheads on October 29 and 30 in Frisco, Texas, offering fans an early glimpse of the new defensive pairing in action.
