After hanging up his skates, Andrew Agozzino quickly moved into a coaching role, signing on as an assistant coach with the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League. The move comes shortly after his retirement announcement and reflects a seamless transition from player to mentor within the organization he helped sustain over the past two seasons.
Agozzino’s professional journey spanned more than a decade in the AHL, where he appeared in 847 games and accumulated 662 points, establishing himself as a reliable offensive contributor. His NHL stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins comprised 53 games in which he recorded 12 points, including two assists in 17 appearances.
During his most recent two seasons, Agozzino was a regular presence in Tucson, helping the club remain competitive in the Western Conference. His deep understanding of the game, combined with a reputation for work ethic and teamwork, made him a natural fit for a coaching position that emphasizes player development and tactical awareness.
The Roadrunners’ management highlighted Agozzino’s blend of experience and fresh perspective as a key factor in strengthening the team’s coaching staff.
