Curran’s new role at Central College
Central College has announced the addition of Andrew Curran to its men’s basketball coaching roster, appointing him as both junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant for the winter campaign. The move reflects the school’s confidence in Curran’s blend of former player insight and hands‑on coaching experience.
Curran’s basketball journey began at Simpson College, where he earned a five‑year letter and surpassed the 1,000‑point milestone. In 2021 he was recognized as a second‑team all‑conference selection, a testament to his consistent offensive contributions.
His coaching résumé includes two seasons at NAIA member Midland University in Nebraska, where he served simultaneously as junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant. During that tenure the Vikings posted a 23‑34 record, a period that also saw Curran guide the Iowa Suns AAU program, further sharpening his developmental approach.
Beyond the numbers, Curran is expected to infuse the Central program with a player‑first mindset, drawing on his own experience as a high‑scoring guard and his work shaping young talent at the club level.
