A Strategic Addition to the Coaching Roster
Andrew Curran, a former standout at Simpson College, has been appointed to Central College's men's basketball coaching staff, taking on responsibilities as both junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach.
Curran arrives after a two‑year tenure at NAIA Midland University in Nebraska, where the Vikings posted a 23‑34 record. During that period he also contributed to the Iowa Suns AAU program while still a student at Simpson.
At Simpson, Curran earned a five‑year letter, was named a second‑team all‑conference selection in 2021, and surpassed the 1,000‑point milestone in his collegiate career. His playing experience and coaching background are expected to bring depth and tactical insight to Central's programs.
Central College officials highlighted the hire as a move that will bolster the development of younger players while providing additional guidance to the varsity squad. The addition comes as the program looks to enhance competitiveness within the Midwest conference landscape.
