A Strategic Acquisition
The University of Tennessee has announced the addition of Andrew Duncan, a right‑handed outfielder who transferred into the program ahead of the 2027 season.
During his 2026 campaign at Wright State, Duncan posted a .380 batting average, amassed 63 hits and drove in 33 runs, numbers that placed him among the most consistent hitters in the Atlantic Sun.
Duncan's collegiate journey began at Florida State before he moved to Wright State, where he earned two Player of the Year honors between 2021 and 2022, underscoring his early promise.
The Houston Astros recognized his talent by selecting him in the 19th round of the 2023 MLB draft, a milestone that added a professional dimension to his résumé.
The move marks the second season for head coach Josh Elander, who guided the Vols to a 38‑22 overall record and a 15‑15 mark in the SEC during his inaugural year.
With a blend of proven collegiate production and draft experience, Duncan is expected to contribute immediately as the Vols look to build on last year's foundation and contend within the SEC.
