A Surprise Entry
Andy Jankowiak, a 38‑year‑old native of Buffalo, New York, is poised to make his NASCAR debut this weekend at Daytona International Speedway, stepping into the No. 39 RSS Racing car for the season‑opening event.
The driver enters the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series with a résumé that includes 54 ARCA Menard’s Series starts, a victory at Talladega Superspeedway earlier this year and five top‑ten finishes at Daytona, the best of which was a sixth‑place result.
Jankowiak is perhaps best remembered for his colorful radio transmission before a 2024 race at Daytona, when he told his crew, “I’m not lifting until I see God or a checkered flag,” a phrase that preceded a spectacular wreck that drew widespread attention.
RSS Racing will field three entries in the race, with Ryan Sieg piloting the No. 38 and Kyle Sieg the No. 28, while Jankowiak takes the No. 39, effectively replacing Ryan Sieg’s usual ride in the series.
The upcoming race promises a clash of experience and youthful ambition, as the Buffalo‑born driver looks to translate his ARCA success into a strong showing on the 2.5‑mile superspeedway.
