A Familiar Face Returns to the Purple Eagles
After spending recent years shaping programs at Daemen and Buffalo State, Angel Parker is back at Niagara University, taking on the role of assistant coach for the women's basketball squad. Her return is more than a career move; it is a homecoming for a player who once wore the Purple Eagles' jersey with distinction.
Parker’s collegiate career at Niagara was marked by excellence on the court. She earned four‑time All‑MAAC honors, set program records for career steals and games played, and was a key contributor to the team’s WNIT appearances in the 2022‑23 and 2023‑24 seasons. Those achievements have left an indelible mark on the program’s history.
Head Coach Tiara Johnson highlighted Parker’s deep understanding of the university’s traditions and values as a decisive factor in the hiring decision. "Angel embodies what it means to be a Niagara student‑athlete," Johnson said, "and her experience will be invaluable as we build on the momentum we’ve created."
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Parker said she is eager to give back to the institution that shaped her. "I’m thrilled to return and contribute to the team’s success," she noted, emphasizing her commitment to developing players both on and off the court.
