A Veteran Arrives in Wichita
The Wichita Thunder have added a seasoned presence to their roster by inking forward Anthony Collins to a contract for the 2026‑27 campaign. The move comes as the team looks to bolster its depth ahead of another competitive run in the ECHL.
Collins, a 36‑year‑old native of Langley, British Columbia, arrives after spending the last two seasons with the Tahoe team, where he continued to demonstrate the durability and grit that have defined his career.
A Long‑Standing ECHL Journey
Over 13 professional seasons, Collins has skated in 663 ECHL games, accumulating 110 points and 1,154 penalty minutes. His career statistics place him 11th all‑time in games played and 41st in penalty minutes within the league.
Prior to his recent stint in Tahoe, Collins wore the colors of several organizations including Quad City, Rapid City, Indy, Kansas City, South Carolina, Norfolk, Kalamazoo and Savannah, showcasing his adaptability across the league.
During his tenure with the Knight Monsters, he served as an alternate captain and contributed 22 points — seven goals and 15 assists — over 125 games. That period also marked his most recent two‑season engagement with the club before moving to Tahoe.
Impact Beyond the Scoresheet
Beyond raw numbers, Collins brings a wealth of playoff experience and a reputation as a physical, hard‑nosed player. His presence is expected to mentor younger teammates and reinforce the Thunder’s identity as a team that values toughness and resilience.
The organization’s leadership expressed confidence that Collins’s veteran savvy will translate into tangible results on the ice, helping the Thunder maintain their competitive edge in the upcoming season.
