The P13 Youth Camp, founded by Fort Wayne Komets forward Anthony Petruzzelli, concluded its third season in Fort Wayne this summer, bringing together dozens of young athletes eager to sharpen their game.
A community‑focused hockey experience
Launched in 2023 after parents expressed interest in private lessons with Petruzzelli, the camp has grown into an annual fixture that pairs participants with the forward and other Komets teammates.
Kids receive on‑ice instruction from Petruzzelli, Austin Magera and Jalen Smereck, while also benefiting from mentorship that stretches back to when some of them first laced skates at age five.
Petruzzelli described the setting as a fun way to give back, noting how rewarding it is to watch the participants evolve both as players and as members of the community.
The camp’s impact extends beyond skill development; it reinforces local ties and showcases the Komets’ commitment to nurturing the next generation of hockey talent in Indiana.
Looking ahead, Petruzzelli has not yet signed with the Komets for the 2026‑2027 season, leaving fans eager to see whether he will continue his on‑ice role while continuing this off‑ice outreach.
