Championship Run of Antigo Youth Baseball Teams
The Antigo baseball community is buzzing after a historic weekend in which both the 9U Stallions and the Junior Legion Typhoons secured championship titles in their respective tournaments.
The Stallions, competing in the Tomahawk Tournament, fought through a grueling four‑game schedule, culminating in a decisive rematch victory over Tomahawk that sealed the crown.
At the heart of the Stallions’ success was Eli Cornelius, who delivered a complete‑game performance in the opening contest, striking out nine batters while surrendering just three hits.
Bentley Knutson anchored the Typhoons’ offense, logging six hits over four games and earning the win in Game 3 with a masterful three‑inning outing that yielded only a single hit.
The Typhoons finished the postseason with a 2‑2 record, highlighted by dominant pitching and error‑free defense, though they fell 11‑1 to the Beloit Bandits in Game 2 and were shut out 5‑0 by Beaver Dam in the final match.
Across both teams, contributions from players such as Austin Martinson, Ryder Schnappup, Pacey Frost, Tyce Ehret and Braydon Decker underscored a collective effort that blended power hitting with tight defensive play.
