Antwan McKoy Commits to Georgia Bulldogs
Antwan McKoy, a 6‑foot‑3, 295‑pound defensive lineman from St. Pauls High School in North Carolina, announced his commitment to the University of Georgia on Wednesday. The three‑star prospect is celebrated for his elite athleticism and has drawn attention for his potential to anchor the Bulldogs’ defensive front.
McKoy’s decision followed an official visit to Athens on May 29, after which he took three weeks to finalize his choice. In addition to football, he competes in basketball and track and field, showcasing the versatility that coaches say translates to his on‑field performance.
A Recruiting Surge in Athens
Ranked as the No. 51 defensive lineman and No. 451 overall in the 2027 class, McKoy also holds the No. 13 spot among North Carolina prospects. His rating reflects a blend of size, speed and technique that many analysts project could make an immediate impact.
Georgia’s 2027 recruiting class now stands at 17 commitments and is positioned No. 9 nationally. The Bulldogs have recently bolstered the roster by flipping former Penn State wide receiver commit Jamir Dean and securing four‑star offensive tackle Kennedee Jackson, who originally pledged to Florida.
Coaches and analysts alike view the influx of talent as a sign of the program’s rising momentum. “Adding a player of McKoy’s caliber not only strengthens the defensive line but also signals to other top prospects that Georgia is a destination of choice,” a recruiting analyst said.
The commitment underscores the Bulldogs’ ability to attract elite talent from across the Southeast, reinforcing their reputation as a powerhouse in college football recruiting.
