Ricardo Aponte and Camden Rhude, two of IUP’s most dynamic players, have been recognized as second-team All-Region selections by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
The distinction marks the second all-region acknowledgment of the postseason for each athlete, following earlier honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association that highlighted their offensive contributions.
Together they anchored a 2026 campaign that propelled the Crimson Hawks to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament semifinals, underscoring their role as offensive leaders.
Statistical Impact
Aponte, a junior who splits time behind the plate and in the outfield, topped the conference with 20 stolen bases, while Rhude, a sophomore designated hitter, posted an on-base percentage that placed him among the top ten and an OPS that ranked in the top five.
Their performances have resonated beyond individual stats, as five PSAC West athletes earned first-team All-Region honors and five additional players were named to the second team, reflecting a deep pool of talent across the league.
The recognition also ties the players to a broader network of collegiate baseball excellence, linking IUP with institutions such as Seton Hill, West Chester and others that compete under the same regional framework.
