Ohio State University made a splash this week by confirming the addition of Argentine forward Lee Aaliya to its men’s basketball program for the 2026‑27 season, a move that underscores the Buckeyes’ ambition to bolster their frontcourt with a player who has already proven himself on the international stage.
Aaliya, a 6‑8 wing known for his explosive athleticism and scoring versatility, spent the past year in Spain’s Liga ACB where he posted averages of 18.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, numbers that have drawn attention from scouts across Europe and North America.
His résumé also includes a key role on Argentina’s U19 national team, which captured the 2023 World Cup title, and a stint helping UCAM Murcia reach the final four of the South American Basketball Champions League in the 2024‑25 campaign, experiences that highlight his ability to perform under pressure.
