Arizona’s 2026 Elite High School Football Landscape
The 2026 high school football season in Arizona is already generating buzz, with USA Today’s rankings placing Roye Oliver III at the pinnacle of the state’s talent pool.
Oliver, a senior standout, captured 92 passes for 1,839 yards and 29 touchdowns in an 11‑1 campaign, earning the Arizona Republic Offensive Player of the Year and the Ed Doherty Award, which honors the state’s top player regardless of position.
Close behind, junior edge rusher Jalanie George of Goodyear Desert Edge is projected as the No. 2 prospect nationally in the 2028 class, while Chandler senior quarterback Will Mencl reached the Elite 11 finals and guided his team to the Open state final last year.
Landen Wade, another junior edge rusher from Chandler Basha, is drawing interest from Ohio State, and Noah Roberts, a senior running back committed to Texas, is celebrated as one of the premier pass‑catching backs in Arizona.
