The Fiesta Sports Foundation has announced its 2026 preseason All‑State flag football team for Arizona, naming 29 high‑school girls who have emerged as the state’s most promising talent. The honorees represent every major conference and were selected by a panel of coaches, media members and foundation officials.
A Milestone for Girls’ Flag Football
Committee members reviewed game tape, player statistics and on‑field impact before finalizing the roster. Their collaborative approach ensured that the selections reflected both athletic excellence and the growing visibility of girls’ flag football across Arizona’s high school landscape.
Erik Moses, CEO of the Fiesta Sports Foundation, emphasized that Arizona is rapidly becoming a premier proving ground for high school football talent. "The depth of skill we’re seeing on the flag‑football field is unmatched," Moses said, noting that many of the selected athletes have already committed to top national programs.
Among the honorees are Amaya Moreno, Marlie Phillips, Claire McMahon and a host of other standout players such as Kinsley McCarty, Mikaela Oberstein, Markiah Riley, Kayla Tacker and Deztany Toyota‑Villalobos. Each of them has signed letters of intent with powerhouse programs, underscoring the talent pipeline that Arizona is cultivating.
The recognition will take place at the UMB Bank Fiesta Sports Foundation Football Kickoff on August 21 in Glendale, Arizona. The ceremony will feature keynote speeches from former Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy and Jack Swarbrick, Notre Dame’s athletic director, who will address the future of the sport and the importance of expanding opportunities for female athletes.
