The Wildcats finished 19th nationally in total defense last year, allowing just 308.5 yards per game, and posted a 9‑4 record that marked a rare winning season in recent memory.
While the secondary will field twelve first‑year players, Gonzales believes the front seven’s depth and the return of key front‑line talent will generate the pressure needed to tighten coverage.
