Arjun Nanubhai Signs with Brampton Steelheads
The Brampton Steelheads announced today that they have signed Arjun Nanubhai, the franchise’s first second‑round selection in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection, to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The deal marks a significant milestone for the organization as it looks to bolster its forward lines with a player who has drawn comparisons to some of the league’s most dynamic playmakers.
Nanubhai, a 5‑foot‑10 centreman listed at 163 pounds, brings a blend of speed, creativity and offensive instincts that made him a standout in the Mississauga Senators U16 AAA program. In 32 regular‑season games he tallied 47 points, a performance that placed him among the top prospects in the 2026 OHL Draft class.
A Promising Junior Career
Coached by a respected staff in Mississauga, Nanubhai’s 47‑point season showcased his ability to generate scoring chances while also contributing to the team’s overall flow. Scouts praised his explosive first step and his knack for threading passes through tight defensive gaps, traits that have already earned him a reputation as a playmaker with a high ceiling.
Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, highlighting Nanubhai’s combination of skill and work ethic. “His speed and skill set are exactly what we need to compete at the next level,” Richmond said. “He can score, he can pass, and he brings a hunger that will elevate everyone around him.”
