The University of Arkansas baseball team has risen to No. 14 in the latest USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll, a testament to its steady performance following a 2‑1 series victory over then‑No. 21 Oklahoma.
A streak that spans decades
The Razorbacks have now been ranked for 138 consecutive weeks, the longest active streak in the nation and the longest in the coaches poll over the past twenty years. Their most recent climb comes after a hard‑fought series win that saw them defeat a highly ranked Oklahoma squad.
Other national polls echo the momentum
Baseball America, D1Baseball, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game all placed Arkansas within the top 25, with Baseball America ranking the team 10th, D1Baseball 12th, the writers association 21st and Perfect Game 21st. Across the SEC, nine conference teams are currently listed in the polls, with Georgia holding the league’s highest spot at No. 4.
Coach Van Horn looks ahead
Head coach Dave Van Horn praised the team’s resilience, noting that the win over Oklahoma was a “big step” for the club. He also highlighted the experience of senior pitcher Skip Johnson, whose contributions have helped steady the rotation during the demanding stretch.
