Arkansas Football Secures Ivy League Transfer Sean Williams

The former Dartmouth standout brings All‑Ivy honors and positional flexibility to the Razorbacks' secondary

Arkansas Football has announced the addition of Sean Williams, a Dartmouth transfer who brings a distinguished Ivy League pedigree to the Razorbacks' defensive backfield. The move comes as the program looks to reinforce a secondary that has shown flashes of promise but still seeks a reliable playmaker.

During his three‑year stint at Dartmouth, Williams compiled 160 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 11 interceptions and 22 passes defended, numbers that helped him earn first‑team All‑Ivy League honors in his senior season of 2025. He finished that year with 31 tackles, four interceptions and eight passes defended, underscoring his knack for disrupting opposing offenses.

His arrival follows a recent federal court injunction that granted the 2022 high‑school recruiting class a fifth year of eligibility, a ruling that has opened the door for several veteran transfers to join college programs across the nation.

Versatility and Experience

Williams has experience playing both safety and nickel positions, allowing him to slide seamlessly between deep coverage and the slot. That dual‑role background mirrors the skill set of Caleb Wooden, giving Arkansas a pair of veterans who can mentor younger players while competing for starting snaps.

Beyond his defensive duties, Williams contributed as a punt returner, fielding 31 punts for 247 yards and a long return of 35 yards as a sophomore. After his senior season he attended minicamp tryouts with the Tennessee Titans, testing his abilities against professional competition.

The Razorbacks' secondary already features standout names such as Christian Harrison, Miguel Mitchell, Kyeaure Magloire and Tay Lockett. Their presence creates a deep room where Williams and Wooden will battle for playing time, a competition that could reshape the unit’s dynamics heading into the upcoming season.
