The University of Arkansas men’s basketball program is set to embark on an unprecedented overseas swing, with four exhibition games scheduled in Nassau, Bahamas, this summer. The Razorbacks will open against the Bahamas national team on July 31, then take on Carleton University of Ottawa on August 1, before facing professional side Toros del Valle from Cali, Colombia, on August 3 and rounding out the tour with a matchup versus the University of Calgary on August 4.
This itinerary marks a significant shift in Arkansas’s pre‑season strategy, as the team integrates a blend of fresh talent and seasoned returnees. New portal additions include Furman center Cooper Bowser and Georgia guard Jeremiah Wilkinson, while the roster also welcomes back junior wing Billy Richmond, redshirt forward Paulo Semedo and guard Isaiah Sealy, who is currently nursing a knee injury.
Coach John Calipari has repeatedly stressed that the trip is about more than wins; it is a chance to forge chemistry and give the newcomers a taste of high‑pressure basketball. ‘We’re using these games to build a foundation,’ Calipari said, noting that the experience will be vital as the team navigates a season that will also see departing stars Meleek Thomas, Trevon Brazile and Darius Acuff head to the NBA draft.
