A demanding slate awaits the Razorbacks
The University of Arkansas has released its 2026 men’s soccer schedule, a 18‑match lineup that blends home‑field advantage with a gauntlet of nationally ranked opponents. Sixteen regular‑season contests will be complemented by two preseason exhibitions, and eleven of those games will be played on the familiar grass of Razorback Field in Fayetteville.
Early exhibitions set the tone
The first exhibition is set for August 5, when the Razorbacks host Kansas City in a free, public showcase that promises fireworks early in the campaign. Just three days later, the team will travel to Memphis for a final tune‑up before the season officially begins.
Home marquee matchups
Arkansas will then welcome two of the country’s elite programs to Fayetteville in quick succession. On August 12 the No. 15 Baylor Bears arrive, followed by the No. 13 North Carolina Tar Heels on August 20. Both teams reached the 2025 NCAA Tournament, with Baylor and North Carolina advancing to the Elite 8, underscoring the intensity of the early home slate.
Conference and road challenges
The road trip continues with a stop at Loyola Maryland on August 16, after which the Razorbacks will open conference play against Texas on September 11 back on home turf. The schedule also includes a sprinkling of matches against traditional SEC rivals such as Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Missouri, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Kentucky, ensuring a rigorous test week after week.
Postseason pathways
Beyond the regular season, the SEC Tournament will kick off on November 8, culminating in the championship game on November 15 in Pensacola, Florida. The stakes will be high, as the NCAA Tournament begins on November 20 and concludes on December 14 in Cary, North Carolina, where the nation’s top college soccer teams will converge.
Coaching perspective
Head coach Colby Hale, now in his third year, has articulated a clear vision: challenge his squad, sharpen its metrics, and secure a strong RPI to improve NCAA seeding. The Razorbacks finished the 2025 campaign with a 10‑5‑4 record and captured the SEC regular‑season title, earning a No. 5 seed before falling to Washington in the second round.
Competition context
The competition will be fierce. Ten of Arkansas’ 16 opponents were ranked in last year’s top 25, and eight finished inside the NCAA RPI top 50. Eight teams overall made the NCAA Tournament, with Baylor and North Carolina reaching the Elite 8, a benchmark that fuels the Razorbacks’ ambition.
Looking ahead
For fans, the schedule promises a steady stream of high‑profile home games, while the road tests will provide valuable experience. With a blend of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers, the 2026 Razorbacks are poised to turn a demanding slate into a springboard for deeper postseason runs.
