Arkansas State University has announced that seven of its athletes have earned spots on the 2026 Preseason All‑Sun Belt Conference First Team, a recognition that underscores the program’s rising profile heading into the new season.
Preseason Honors
Among the honorees, Chauncy Cobb stands out for his versatility, earning first‑team honors as a wide receiver, return specialist and all‑purpose back. Cobb’s 2025 season included 538 kickoff return yards, placing him eighth nationally, and 73 receptions for 797 yards with a touchdown, underscoring his impact on both sides of the ball.
Kenyon Clay, who ranked second on the team with 523 rushing yards last year, also receives first‑team accolades, while Tristian Smith was rated the top offensive lineman before a season‑ending injury curtailed his campaign. Defensive standout AG McGhee logged 83 total tackles, securing third place on the team, and kicker Clune Van Andel converted 21 of 27 field‑goal attempts and 36 of 37 extra points.
Projected Division Outlook
The Red Wolves are projected to finish third in the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference, a placement that builds on their recent back‑to‑back bowl victories. Media days will feature head coach Butch Jones alongside Cobb and teammate Brandon Barnes, giving fans a first look at the team’s preparations.
Season tickets for the 2026 home schedule are now on sale, with prices starting at $40, offering supporters an affordable way to follow the team’s push toward a competitive season.
