Army Football Announces 10 Players on Preseason All-Star Team

Phil Steele Magazine recognizes standout performers ahead of 2026 season opener

Preseason Honors Highlight Promising Roster

Phil Steele Magazine has released its preseason American Conference all-star team, and Army football boasts ten selections, underscoring the program’s depth heading into the 2026 campaign.

Quarterback Brady Small and defensive end Jack Bousum headline the first-team choices. Small, a career starter in 39 games, earned first-team all-conference honors in both 2024 and 2025, while Bousum contributed four and a half sacks and eight tackles for loss last season.

The second team includes running back Kody Harris-Miller, wide receiver Jaydan Mayes, offensive lineman Parker Poloskey, defensive lineman James Wagenseller and utility player Owen Walter, each of whom played key roles in the previous year’s success.

Godspower Nwawuihe and Paolo Gennarelli were placed on the third team. Nwawuihe’s breakout performance in the Fenway Bowl — 171 yards and two long touchdowns — highlighted his potential, while Gennarelli’s blocking helped the rushing attack compile 3,485 yards.

Cale Hellums earned a fourth-squad nod after posting 1,223 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns in the last season.

The Black Knights open the 2026 schedule on September 5 against Bryant University, a game that will also serve as the inaugural event for the newly completed East stands at Michie Stadium.

Athletic Director Jim Collins praised the selections, noting that the recognition reflects the team’s focus on preparation and execution as they look to build on recent momentum.
