The Ascension Parish baseball team captured a decisive 2-0 victory in their second game of the Little League Southwest Region Tournament, securing a spot in the regional semifinal and keeping their championship hopes alive.
A combined no-hitter that made history
Pitchers Liam Hohl, Cooper Suire and John Landry joined forces to deliver the tournament’s first combined no-hitter since 2019. Landry opened the game and struck out eight batters over the first four innings, setting a dominant tone for the team.
Offensively, John Landry sparked the scoring with an extra-base hit that put Ascension Parish ahead 1-0. Moments later, Brock Percell delivered an RBI single that extended the lead to 2-0, sealing the win.

The team will meet Tulsa National from Oklahoma in the semifinal on Sunday, August 9 at 3:00 p.m. The matchup promises another test of Ascension Parish’s pitching depth and timely hitting.
