Early Wednesday morning, Bangor police were called to a residential neighborhood after receiving a tip about a stolen vehicle. What began as a routine inquiry quickly escalated into a violent scene inside a home on Mt. Hope Avenue.
According to investigators, two adults and a 17‑year‑old entered the victim’s apartment armed with a baseball bat, demanding information about the missing vehicle. The assault left the homeowner injured but conscious, and the intruders fled before officers arrived.
Arrests and Charges
Bangor police swiftly located the suspects and took them into custody. The trio was transported to the Penobscot County Jail, where they remain pending further court proceedings.
Serina Beaucher, 28, faces aggravated assault and burglary to a dwelling. Bradley Dean, also 26 and a resident of nearby Brewer, is charged with burglary to a dwelling, simple assault and criminal mischief. The juvenile, whose identity has not been released, is charged with burglary to a dwelling and simple assault.
The investigation revealed that the attackers were searching for a friend’s stolen vehicle and believed the victim might possess details about its whereabouts. Police say the assault was targeted, not random, and that the suspects acted on faulty intelligence.
Authorities praised the quick response of patrol units and the cooperation of the community in reporting the incident. While the victim’s injuries were not life‑threatening, the episode underscores the risks that can accompany investigations into property crimes.
Community Impact
Local officials say the arrests serve as a reminder of the importance of securing personal property and reporting suspicious activity. Neighborhood watch groups have indicated they will increase patrols in the area, hoping to deter similar incidents in the future.
